Accolade Appoints New Chief Medical Officer to Support Continued Digital Health Growth

Accolade, an on-demand healthcare concierge for employers, health plans, and health systems, today announced the appointment of Ivor Horn, M.D., MPH, as Chief Medical Officer.

Accolade CEO Rajeev Singh praised Dr. Horn’s passion for finding creative new ways to apply data, science, and technology to improve the deeply personal experience of managing health.

Dr. Horn is a board-certified pediatrician and was Medical Director of the Center for Diversity and Health Equity at Seattle Children’s Hospital prior to joining Accolade. She is also an NIH-funded investigator whose research focuses on healthcare communications and health disparities, with an emphasis on how social media and health information technology can be used to improve child health disparities.

“How we interact with each other and with healthcare is transforming, and Accolade is proving this,” said Dr. Horn. “There is still a need for person-to-person engagement, but how you incorporate technology into that relationship is exciting. So much of healthcare happens outside the four walls of the doctor’s office, and being able to engage patients wherever they are is immensely powerful.”

Accolade, a McKesson Ventures portfolio company, closed its $70 million Series E funding round in August 2016.
