Oath Surgical Raises $24M to Build the First Surgeon-Owned, AI-Powered Surgical System

AI-powered surgical care innovator Oath Surgical recently announced that it has secured $24 million in Series A funding, led by FPV Ventures alongside McKesson Ventures and existing investors OSE, Black Opal Ventures, Tau Ventures, and Rogue VC — bringing the company’s total funding thus far to $35 million. Oath Surgical will use this additional funding to branch into oncology, scale its network of surgery centers nationally, and to advance OathOS: a superintelligent AI platform built to streamline surgical workflows, reduce bottlenecks, and increase providers’ access to real-time data.

Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Oath Surgical Oliver Keown, MD explained how this new funding will help continue to strengthen the Oath mission in the company’s press release, stating, “Surgery is at a turning point. The shift of complex care out of hospitals is inevitable, but it won’t happen by chance. It will take a new kind of system—high-tech, surgeon-led, and aligned across patients, providers, and payors. That’s what we’re building at Oath.”

Founded in 2024 and based out of Portland, Oregon, Oath Surgical has quickly established a name for itself with tech-first surgical centers that offer high-quality, value-based care that is affordable for patients and providers alike. Oath already has over 150 surgeon partners within its West Coast network, with impressive offerings including 80% cost savings compared to hospital-based procedures, less than a 0.25% complication rate for complex surgeries, 98.5% patient satisfaction, and more.
