GCV Powerlist 2018: Tom Rodgers

Tom Rodgers, senior vice president and managing director of McKesson Ventures, has been named to the Global Corporate Venturing 2018 Powerlist.

Under Tom Rodgers’ leadership, McKesson Ventures (which launched in 2014) has made several investments, including a $1.2 billion series B round for GRAIL Inc. in November 2017. Other investments in 2017 included leading Truveris’ series D round in September and contributing to SHYFT Analytics’ Series B round. And in October, portfolio company Carena was acquired by Avizia, which announced in April that it will in turn be acquired by American Well. So far in 2018, McKesson Ventures has co-lead a $50 million funding round for Accolade.

The McKesson Ventures team has continued to grow under Rodgers’ leadership, with recent additions including Carrie Hurwitz Williams as principal and Irem Mertol as a director.

Tom Rodgers was previously vice president of corporate strategy and business development for McKesson Corporate. He later joined Advanced Technology Ventures in 2004 and was director of strategic investments at Cambia Health Solutions for two-and-a-half years. In 2014, he returned to McKesson to launch McKesson Ventures.
