Health Tech Faves & Investment Trends from Innovation Insiders

McKesson Ventures Partner Michelle Snyder was one of the speakers at a recent HLTH webinar on investment trends in the health tech field. The webinar, held June 24, 2021, also featured Keith Figloli, general partner at LVRHealth; and Anne Wellington, managing director at Cedars-Sinai.

Health tech investment achieved records in 2020, with the number of financings rising steeply again at the end of the first quarter of 2021. HLTH brought together these three innovation insiders from different corners of health tech investment—from accelerators to venture capitalists and corporate venture capitalists—to debate the most significant new health technologies and healthcare market gaps, discuss strategic shifts over the past year, and share their views on the ways the pandemic has shifted their perspective on healthcare’s digital transformation timeline. The speakers also discussed the implications of these trends for key players in the middle and long term.

The issues the speakers discussed included:

  • What to expect from the health tech investment field in the middle and long term
  • Differences in investment perspectives from provider to venture capitalist or corporate venture capitalist
  • The biggest opportunities for innovation
  • The most promising technologies in healthcare.

Michelle Snyder brings over 25 years of healthcare industry experience in marketing, business development, strategic planning, and general management, and is recognized as a leader in the digital health space. Before she joined McKesson Ventures, she was chief marketing officer at Welltok, a leading consumer health activation company. Michelle was also one of the early executives at Epocrates and worked for over a decade to build the company into one of the most recognized brands among clinicians.
