Healthcare Company Accolade’s Next Czech-up: A New Engineering Office in Prague

After raising $70 million in Series E funding, rising healthcare firm Accolade announced the opening of its new office in Prague. After only nine years, the start-up company has already reached international heights. This will be Accolade’s fourth office, following its Philadelphia, Scottsdale, and Seattle locations.

The recent expansion comes as a result of a rising demand for Accolade’s personalized healthcare services. After acquiring Comcast as its first customer in 2009, the company has since gone on to secure contracts with Lowe’s and Hewlett-Packard. With over 700 employees and 40 open job positions, the company shows no signs of slowing down.

CEO Raj Singh had this to say about the latest addition, “We came to Prague because there are brilliant people here who can do things that other people can’t do.”

Singh runs Accolade alongside Chief Product Officer Mike Hilton. Hilton and Singh co-founded corporate travel and expense company Concur back in 1993. After selling Concur to SAP for $8.3 billion last year, the business duo reconvened and became the front men of Accolade.

Accolade is a McKesson Ventures portfolio company that serves the needs of employers by providing on-demand healthcare assistance to workers. The company works in conjunction with insurance providers to help employees with anything from explaining healthcare benefits to scheduling an appointment with an in-network doctor. Accolade has revolutionized the healthcare industry by offering a direct line of communication where employees can address all their healthcare related questions. Accolade’s personal Health Assistants® are live agents that act as a single point-of-reference for workers.
