Healthcare venture capital company Rock Health has just announced that pharmaceutical veteran Bill Evans will be appointed the role of Rock Health’s Managing Director. Evans will fill the shoes of Rock Health founder Halle Tecco, who left the organization in May 2016. Evans will also take on the responsibilities previously held by Malay Gandhi, who was CEO of the company and Managing Director until he left in November 2015.
Evans worked at Genentech for 11 years, where he specialized in physician-facing technology. Genentech (a member of the Roche Group) has been developing and advancing biotechnology for more than 40 years. Evans was the head of Genentech’s Health Lab before he switched over to Roche Diagnostics. At Roche Diagnostics, Evans was the Senior Director of Product Management for Diagnostics Information Solutions.
As a venture capital firm, Rock Health has partnered with several industry leaders who provide insight into their portfolio companies. Rock Health’s partners include Evans’s previous employer Genentech. Other notable partners include CVS Health, AARP, Blue Shield of California, and Boston Children’s Hospital.
