More than half of US seniors would use telehealth, survey finds

According to a new study from American Well, 52 percent of U.S. residents over 65 are willing to use telehealth services. For its Telehealth Index: 2019 Senior Consumer Survey, the company hired market research firm Harris Poll to conduct an online survey of more than 2,000 adults regarding their opinions on telehealth usage. Healthcare tech company Accolade to double headcount in Seattle with new HQ office

Four years ago, Philadelphia-based Accolade established a second headquarters in Seattle. Now the company has announced that it plans to double its staff and open new offices with room for more than 225 employees. “We’ve outgrown our Convention Center space and need room to grow—and not arm-wrestle over meeting rooms!” Accolade CEO Raj Singh told GeekWire. Digital health prescribing platform Xealth has raised an additional $3 million in Series A financing, bringing the amount raised in this round to $14 million. Flip the Script: Prescribing digital care to Duke patients

Thanks to a partnership between Duke Health and Seattle startup Xealth, Duke providers will be able to prescribe apps, videos, educational materials, and other digital health tools to their patients. In the future, the Xealth platform will also enable “contextual awareness,’ which will present relevant content to a physician in a patient’s chart based on their medical information and reason for their visit.
